2018 Fall Meeting

Boston Navigators Club

Thursday, 15 November 2018 at 1145

La Scala Ristorante in Randolph, MA was the site of the Boston Navigators Club Fall meeting. There was a presentation by Sandy Macfarlane, author of Swirling Currents: Controversy, Compromise, and Dynamic Coastal Change. She spoke about whales hunted to near-extinction, then valued for watching; sharks chasing seals chasing fish; fishing technology and regulation through the centuries; the vital ecological roles of herring and shellfish; turtles stranding; - all in the context of dynamic coastal change. Swirling Currents tells the stories behind the headlines. Sandy sold and signed copies of her book after the program.

Prior to the presentation at 1145 there was a hot lunch.

Typically we hold meetings twice a year, one in the spring and one in the fall.
